Pancakes
Easiest way to make pancakes is to grab a box of batter from the store that is already premade so all you’ll add to that is water, or milk. You can grab the premade mix at your local grocery store.
While your at the store, grab you a pack of uncured turkey bacon, and a carton of eggs. The amount of each to grab depends on how many people you are feeding, and how big of a portion you’d like everyone to have.
How to cook pancakes:
1. Mix the batter: In a bowl, whisk together and mix well. Gradually whisk in milk until a smooth batter forms, ensuring no lumps remain.
2. Heat the pan: Place a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Lightly grease the pan with oil or butter using a paper towel.
3. Pour the batter: Pour about 1/4 cup of batter onto the hot pan for each pancake, ensuring they are evenly spaced.
4. Cook until bubbles form: Cook until the edges look set and small bubbles appear on the surface.
5. Flip and cook the other side: Carefully flip the pancake using a spatula and cook for another minute or two until golden brown on the other side.
6. Serve: Stack pancakes on a plate and serve with your favorite toppings like syrup, fruit, whipped cream, or butter.
Important points to remember:
Consistency: The batter should be slightly thick and pourable. Adjust milk quantity if needed.
Heat control: A medium heat is ideal for even cooking.
Don't overmix: Overmixing can lead to tough pancakes.
Watch for bubbles: The appearance of bubbles indicates that the pancake is ready to flip.
Eggs
Heres a little secret: If you put the salt in before whisking eggs the eggs will be fluffy when you cook them.
How to cook eggs:
1. Mix the eggs: In a bowl, beat eggs with salt and milk (if using).
2. In a nonstick skillet: melt butter over medium-high heat until foamy. Add eggs and cook, stirring and scrambling gently with a silicone spatula, until large, fluffy curds form and eggs are fully cooked through, about 3 minutes.
3. Once cooled: Season with pepper and serve.
Turkey Bacon
We prefer turkey bacon because its less greasy and its not pork. However, if pork bacon is what you prefer, then have at it!
How to cook bacon:
1. In a nonstick skillet: add a tablespoon of oil to the pan. Because turkey bacon does not have grease, adding oil to the pan gives the bacon something to fry with. The bacon is left with a crispy bacon taste.
2. Every Three minutes: Check the bacon to see if it needs to be flipped over. The ready-to-flip bacon pieces will have fried/cooked indications on the side facing the skillet. When you see this, flip the bacon to the other side and repeat this process until both sides of the bacon are cooked to your desired crispness.
3. Once cooled: Serve with your eggs and pancakes.
